In 1 Corinthian 12, we see that every believer is a member of Christ's body and as such has a definite ministry. Challenges can arise if we become jealous or prideful of the gifting we have or do not have. We can, however, overcome these feelings by prayer, thankfulness, humility, and by seeing ourselves in terms of the faith that God has distributed to each of us (Romans 12). There is no unemployment in the house of the Lord and we can ask God to lead us into new areas of service, especially if we see a need in the church.
Every member of the body is necessary, worthy, and honorable. Therefore, we need to care for one another both in good times as in bad times, and protect each other from the attacks of the enemy (1 Peter 5:8).
How can you show love and care to your brother and sister in Christ? Can you call somebody this week? Or meet up for coffee to encourage each other in your walk with Christ? Or ask if you can help with tasks around the house?
